Introduction

SwingFeed ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the SwingFeed mobile application.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and username.

Content You Create

We store videos you record, including golf swing videos, thumbnails, and any drawings or annotations you add. Videos are private by default unless you choose to share them.

Location Data

SwingFeed uses your precise location for three purposes: finding nearby golf courses when you start a round, showing you live distances to the green, hazards, and fairway landing areas during play, and keeping those distances up to date on your Lock Screen (Live Activity) during an active round.

Location is only used while you have an active round in progress. During an active round, SwingFeed continues to read your GPS position when the app is in the background or your phone is locked, solely to keep the Lock Screen yardages current — iOS displays a location indicator whenever this is happening. Background updates are infrequent (roughly every 10 seconds) to preserve battery. Location access stops when you finish or end your round, and SwingFeed never requests "Always" location permission — only While Using the App.

Your live GPS position is used on your device to compute distances. It is not transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties. When you finish or end a round, a summary of the round (course, date, and holes played) is saved to your account so you can review your history.

You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → SwingFeed → Location. The nearby-courses search and on-course distance features will stop working without location access, but the rest of the app will continue to function.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the app, including features accessed and interactions with content.

Subscription & Purchase Data

If you subscribe to SwingFeed Pro or Pro+, your subscription is processed entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment method, credit card number, or Apple ID password. We receive only:

Your subscription status (active, expired, or cancelled)
The subscription tier you are on (Free, Pro, or Pro+)
Your subscription expiration date and renewal status

This information is stored locally on your device and cached in our systems solely to provide you with the correct features and video storage limits for your plan.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the SwingFeed service
To store and display your swing videos
To enable social features like sharing, following, and commenting
To find nearby golf courses and calculate on-course distances during an active round
To manage your subscription tier and provide access to the correct features
To send important service updates

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage. Data is stored in the United States.

Subscription status is cached locally on your device using AsyncStorage and verified through Apple's StoreKit framework. No payment or financial data is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

When you choose to make content public on SwingFeed
With service providers who help operate our service (e.g., Google Firebase)
With Apple via StoreKit for subscription verification (no personal data is shared — only transaction receipts)
If required by law or to protect rights and safety

Your Choices

Privacy Settings: Control whether your videos are public or private
Delete Content: Delete your videos at any time from your library
Delete Account: Contact us to delete your account and associated data

Children's Privacy

SwingFeed is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
